The residence is conceived as a form of intellectual game where natural materials such as metal, stone, wood and diverse textures serve as a backdrop for historical quotes: the sheen of ceramic tiles stretching the full height of the living room, the horizontal shimmer of a patinated mirror through which black-and-white photographs of imperial yachts from the early 20th century seem to appear. The history of the Naval Guards Barracks building and images of ship interiors inspired Choice designers to create the industrial aesthetic of the residence.
